Hi all - I have been viewing this board for awhile, and thought it might be wise to finally start participating! I've been an avid Jeff fan since 1994 - can't resist a sexy bass player - hahaha! But of course, the music is what brought me to Pearl Jam! I was wondering if anyone knows how many albums Lost Dogs has sold, and what everyone thinks of it...Peace!

no idea how many copies it's sold etc but i love lost dogs!! they must have so many amazing songs like them hidden away somewhere we'll probably never get to hear. i think i've lost my copy so i've just ordered another one - was getting withdrawl symptoms. it'll probably turn up now!!
I have to agree Jeff is sexy -- for many different reasons -- and just all-around fantastic.
On the whole, all I can really say is that Pearl Jam's music means the world to me, and naturally, what Jeff contributes to that music is a big part of why it's so special to me.
Anyhow... Regarding the sales figures for Lost Dogs, the closest I could come to finding any sort of info is that it charted at #15 in its first week and sold 89,000 copies. Beyond that, I have no idea how it has done; sorry.
My personal opinion? I have to be brutally honest and admit that it's not my absolute favourite piece of work they've ever released, there are definite "moments" on Lost Dogs that I think are incredible -- ie. Individual songs, aspects within certain songs, etc. I also am tremendously impressed by the fact that the band (and presumably Brett Eliason) took the time to include alternate takes and mixes for a lot of the songs a lot of us were already familiar with. Now, I don't at all claim to be any kind of music expert, but from what I can hear on a sweet pair of headphones, virtually every "known" song included on Lost Dogs differs in some way (either subtly or markedly) from the "original"/"old" version. I can't imagine how many hours of tape they must have gone through to select those; god knows it would have been much easier just to slap the more familiar songs on there with no changes, but NOPE! Once again, PJ prove to go above and beyond the call of duty!
