Hi all,
This may be kind of a weird topic, but I was thinking that since we're heading into '04, but coming off a very active year for Pearl Jam, we could maybe use this thread to look back on our favourite moments of 2003, specifically relating to a certain favourite musician of ours... Whether you saw Jeff/PJ live, met him, or simply were moved by what you heard/read/saw and so on, please share your JA-related highlights and fave moments of this past year...
Mine? Well, I may add more to this thread later, but the Jeff-specific moment that sticks out most in my mind from '03 occured when I saw PJ in my hometown of Toronto at the end of June (although please note this is not to slight having seen them in Montreal as well!)... To set the scene: It's in the midst of the first encore and Pearl Jam launches into "Spin The Black Circle"; now, I don't know if this was Jeff's pick for the setlist or what, but he went NUTS, running and jumping all over the stage, doing lunges and playing his bass down at knee-level. At one point, Jeff's hoppin' and boppin' takes him all the way over to Stone's side of the stage -- where, luckily enough, I had tickets with a terrific view in the 200 section (and therefore got an unexpected little "visit", so to speak!). Ed notices him out of the corner of his eye and smiles, then gives a subtle little signal to the lighting crew so as to give Jeff his own mini-spotlight! I'm not doing it justice, but if a video of this concert ever surfaces, you'll see what I mean! It was awesome! It was so great to see him acknowledged -- and as an audience member, to acknowledge him --  even in such a small way, and of course, it was an absolute treat to see him get so into the music and have so much fun.
Here's "the moment" (almost my exact perspective):

???!!!

All right, I think I've mucked up the entire thread somehow! First, that pic was supposed to be part of my initial post; second, my reply (the pic on its own) is now showing up as the first post in the thread. Sorry guys! I have no idea why things are showing up as they are. Kinda anti-climactic!

i think my moment was when i was at MSG I and jeff came out to play Why Can't I Touch it? with the buzzcocks. he couldnt get the groove right.. much to the amusement of tony from the buzzcocks.. motioning that he should be looser. that was cool.. they both cracked up.

Not to stray from the topic of the thread, but does anyone know if a recording of the performance Laura is referring to ever ended up surfacing?
