Finally, the ever-elusive Screamer interview is a mystery no more! Thanks a lot! But if I may get up on my moral high horse for a moment, the place where you found it bothers me philosophically for many reasons. Never liked what I've seen over there, so I'm even feeling a little bit conflicted that it of all places is where the Screamer interview finally shows up.

On to the interview itself... What a pleasure to finally read it after all these years. I have to admit, it's a much "heavier" interview than I thought it would be, especially since all I had to go on was that infamous quote used in the Mick Wall book. And while I'd still call it kind of a no-holds-barred interview, it's not as outright wild and silly as I'd exprected it to be. That is not a criticism of the interview, but really, I think it shows what taking a quote out of context can do. When *that quote* stands alone at the end of a chapter in the Mick Wall book and when it's referenced back to Screamer (which I believe is/was a metal mag with a focus on "hair bands"), you expect the interview to be this shoot-the-**** piece. And while I have to be totally honest and admit that while reading it I still get this almost naughty feeling of "Oh my god, I can't believe he flat-out told them that!" and "Oh my god,  I can't believe they flat-out asked that!" (), I think the piece was really well done and thought-provoking. I think Jeff makes a lot of great points and I give kudos to both he and the interviewer for being so candid. A great read!!

(BTW, monoxyde, I managed to get into this thread and read the article a couple of days ago, but my home computer is having massive problems right now, so unfortunately couldn't reply until now)
